2013 Kileva UK Team Visit – Wednesday 15th October 2013
Safari into Tsavo East National Park
Wednesday was the day we went on safari into the spectacular Tsavo East National Park which is one of the oldest and largest in Kenya.
In the afternoon Kilele, Margaret and I left the rest of the team to carry on with the safari as we drove to Wundanyi, another one of the Taita Hills about 20 km west of Voi and the administrative centre of Taita-Taveta District
Kileva Awards Ceremony
Once there we attended a special ceremony where prizes were handed out to the best 3 students in each class from 10 primary schools and 2 secondary schools in the region, which means 240 primary and 64 secondary school pupils were rewarded. Well done to them all!
Following that we met Mary Ndiga Kibuka who is the Deputy Governor for the Taita Taveta County Government, and then we visited the County Assembly offices with Ray Mwangola who is the representative for the Wundanyi/Mbale Ward where Kilele is the representative for the Sagalla Ward .
Here are a couple of ‘photos of the stunning scenery going down the mountain on the way back to Voi:
