BBC Visit Sagalla. Scene 5: Watching school play

During the prizegiving ceremony the pupils treated the guests to a play about elephants.

The start of the play

In Lucy’s words:

“We were entertained with a brilliant play of poachers killing an elephant and Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) rangers coming to arrest them – the elephant was two kids tied up in a brown sack walking and trumpeting like a real elephant! It was utterly hilarious and the parents and kids were all in stitches watching this mini-elephant shuffle around the stage. We also had poems and songs and dancing. All very jolly.”
